RICHMOND, VA- The Elizabeth City State Lady Viking volleyball team picked up their first conference win of the 2008 season with a three set sweep of Virginia Union University Tuesday evening at Barco-Stevens Gymnasium 25-15, 25-10, 26-24.

Eva Johnson paced ECSU with 10 kills while Ashley Tarasoff and Jasmin Knox each added 16 assists apiece. As a team the Lady Vikings had 42 kills against only 6 errors in 87 attempts (.414).

Stephanie Bell led all players with a game high 11 kills in a losing effort for the Lady Panthers (0-1, CIAA 0-1).

The Lady Vikings (3-2, CIAA 1-0) will return to action at a tournament hosted by Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, PA September 5-6. They will face Felician College Friday evening at 6:30pm. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
