Bowie Rebounds To Take Game Two From ECSU At Home

ELIZABETH CITY, NC-The Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings split a doubleheader with Bowie State University yesterday, winning game one 6-5 then dropping game two 3-1.

In game one, the Lady Vikings used their final at bat to rally past the Lady Bulldogs. Down to their last out with the go ahead run on first base, Tiffany Smith tripled to score Shawnequa James to edge the BSU 6-5. Smith finished the day going 3 for 4 including a two-run homer.

In game two, BSU pitcher Jillian Willey struck out 7 and allowed only 1 earned run as the Lady Bulldogs avenged game one with a 3-1 victory. The Vikings lone score came in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI single by Nickesha Neal. The Lady Vikings fall to 7-7 (CIAA 7-7) while the Lady Bulldogs improve to 6-7 (CIAA 6-4).

The Lady Vikings will return to action on April 7th as they travel to Richmond, VA to take on Virginia Union University. The doubleheader is slated to begin at 1:00pm.
