LADY VIKINGS HOLD ON TO DEFEAT SAINT AUGUSTINE'S 9-7 IN GAME TWO OF CIAA DOUBLEHEADER ACTION

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings earned a sweep of Saint Augustine's College Thursday afternoon with a 9-7 victory in game two of the CIAA doubleheader. Freshman pitcher Livia Baker got her first win of the season after in the lady Vikings second victory of the season. Through three innings of work she faced 17 striking out three. Alicia Graham came in to relieve her allowing only one run while striking out 9 over the duration of the contest. The Lady Vikings were facing a 6-4 deficit heading into their half of the 3rd inning until before scoring fine runs to go ahead for good. ECSU improves to 2-8 (CIAA 2-4) while Saint Augustine's falls to 2-11 (CIAA 2-6). The Lady Vikings will return to action on Saturday, March 25, 2006 as the travel to take on Fayetteville State University. Game time is slated for 1:00pm.
