SALISBURY, N.C. - Celeste Trahan was one of ten student-athletes, representing 10 institutions that made up the third annual North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State Women's Basketball Teams released Tuesday, May 1.

The squads consist of students from NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA colleges and universities throughout the state. North Carolina sports information professionals submitted nominees and NCCSIA members selected the two-five student teams. All students involved with ties in the voting process are included on the all-state squad. Founded in 2002, NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. More than 400 student-athletes have been recognized on all-state teams since 2003.

Celeste Trahan was named the CIAA Player of the Year and was a Kodak/WBCA All-American after leading the league with 20.1 points and 12.8 rebounds per game for Elizabeth City State. A three-time All-CIAA selection helped the Lady Vikings to their first post-season appearance after a 21-10 campaign. She scored her 1,000th career point just three games into her junior season and became the first Lady Viking in school history to record 1,000 career rebounds. The Stockton, Ca native holds the distinction of the first All-American in school, an honor issued at the close of her sophomore season, and at the close of the 2006-07 season she received All-America honors from both Daktronics and the WBCA/Kodak organizations. Trahan was named the 2006-07 Elizabeth City State University Female Athlete of the Year.
