TRAHAN NAMED TO NCAA DIVISION II KODAK/WBCA ALL-AMERICA BASKETBALL TEAM
March 22, 2007 ATLANTA, GA- Celeste Trahan has added another accolade to what has become a very teeming résumé as she recently was named to the 2007 NCAA Division II Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team. It has been another phenomenal year for the Stockton, CA native. Already a Daktronics All-American after her sophomore year 2005-06), she has now become only the 9th woman in CIAA history and the first since Norfolk State's Kristi Greene in 1995 ((1st in ECSU history) to be voted to the Kodak/WBCA All-America team. This past season she led ECSU to their first ever post season appearance and was named CIAA Player of the Year after leading the conference in scoring and rebounding. Just three game into the 2006-07 season she topped 1,000 points for her career and became the first women in Lady Viking history to record her 1,000th career rebound. To date she has amassed 61 career double doubles and with a year of eligibility remaining is already 18th amongst the CIAA career leaders list in scoring (1,568 points) and 5th in rebounding (1,145 rebounds). This year's team marks the 25th year of the Division II Kodak/WBCA All-America Basketball Team, which began in 1983. Selection committees in each of the eight WBCA geographical regions select ten of the top women's basketball players in the nation to be honored.
