Lady Vikings Receive At-Large Bid as #4 Seed in the South Atlantic Region

INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings will open up post season play on Friday March 9th in Morrow, Georgia against the Lady Cougars of Columbus State University.

The Lady Vikings earned a #4 seed when the 64-team bracket was announced during the NCAA selection show Sunday night.

The Lady Cougars out of Columbus, GA are member of the Peach Belt Conference. Like ECSU they advanced to their conference championship, but fell short in the Finals in a 50-43 loss to Clayton State University. Columbus State (20-10) enters the post season as the #5 seed.

The Lady Vikings and Lady Cougars last faced each other on December 2, 2006 at the NC Central Tip-Off Classic in Durham, NC. The Lady Vikings defeated the Lady Cougars 71-65.

The 2007 South Atlantic Regional will take place March 9th, 10th and 12th in Morrow, GA on the campus of Clayton State University. Game times will be announced Monday morning. A complete list of pairings is listed below. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
