Feb. 11, 2008

HAMPTON, VA-All-American senior center Celeste Trahan has been named CIAA Player of the Week for the fourth consecutive time.

This represents the 18th Player of the Week honor of her career and the eighth time out of twelve weeks of competition this season that she has received the honor. As the Lady Vikings went 2-0 last week she became the first woman in NCAA History to record 2,000 points and 1,500 rebounds in a career. She also is the only player in school history, male or female, to have 1,500 rebounds in a career. She is now just 22 points shy of surpassing Marvin Trotman, ECSU's men's all time leading scorer, to become the top scorer in school history. Trahan also scored 20 points and grabbed 16 boards against Saint Paul's College on Saturday night to bring her career double-double total to 83.

The Lady Vikings will return to action against Saint Augustine's College on Thursday, February 14 at 5:30pm. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
