TRAHAN GARNERS FIFTH CIAA WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR

Jan. 22, 2008

HAMPTON, VA- Celeste Trahan has once again topped the CIAA weekly honor roll as she has been named Player of the Week for the fifth time this season.

As the Lady Vikings posted a 1-1 record last week, Trahan posted double-doubles in both bringing her career total to 76 in 100 games played. At Columbia Union she scored 25 points and grabbed 24 rebounds and in a two-point loss to Fayetteville State she finished with 32 points and 16 rebounds. Remarkably, she is 74 points and 90 rebounds shy of 2,000 points and 1,500 rebounds in a career, which would make her the first ever to do so in NCAA Division II women's basketball history. Trahan leads the CIAA in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, and blocked shots and is the nation's rebounding leader at 16.7 rebounds per game. As of last week she was tied at eight in scoring in NCAA Division II.

The Lady Vikings will return to action on Tuesday, January 22 as they play Lincoln (PA) University. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
