ELIZABETH CITY, NC- Elizabeth City State's Joyce Freeman scored a career high 36 points as the Lady Vikings defeated Lincoln University of Pennsylvania 94-73 Saturday night at the RL Vaughan Center.

The Vikings gives ECSU their first victory of the 2008-09 season. The Lady Vikings never trailed in the game and after holding a 46-32 halftime lead, maintained a double digit cushion throughout the entire second half. The Lady Vikings also held a 35-15 advantage in points off turnovers and went 21-25 from the free throw line.

Sharay DuDose led the way for Lincoln (1-4) with a team high 20 points. Besides Freeman, four other Lady Vikings netted double figures. April Whitaker scored 12, Briana Glover added 11 while both Kearah Jefferys and Ashley Anderson chipped in with 10 apiece.

The Lady Vikings (1-2, CIAA 0-1) will hit the road on Tuesday, November 25 to face Johnson C. Smith University. Game time is scheduled for 5:30pm at Brayboy Gymnasium. For more on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
