ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings got the new season off to a good start with a 71-50 win over Lincoln (PA) University Monday evening at the R.L. Vaughan Center.

All-American Celeste Trahan began her senior campaign with game highs of 28 points and 20 rebounds to collect the 63rd double-double of her illustrious career. She also added 4 steals, 4 assists and a block in the 21-point win. Cheniece Arthur and Joyce Freeman rounded out the double figure scorers for the Lady Vikings with 12 and 10 points, respectively. ECSU was able to maintain a double point cushion for much of the game by shooting a solid 60.9% from the field. The Lady Lions (0-3) were just the opposite, hitting only 17 of 61 shots (27.9%) from the floor.

Tanina Cook paced Lincoln with a team high 18 points in 40 minutes.

The Lady Vikings (1-0) will return from Thanksgiving break to open their CIAA schedule on Tuesday, November 27th as the welcome Johnson C. Smith University to the R.L. Vaughan Center. Game time is scheduled for 5:30pm. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com .
