ECSU GOLF FINISHES THIRD AT VSU TRIANGULAR
June 1, 2005 PETERSBURG, VA- The Elizabeth City State University golf team finished third behind Virginia Union and Virginia State Saturday at the VSU Triangular held in Petersburg, VA. Virginia State's Joel Phillips had a field best 91 to lead the Trojans. However Virginia Union would finish the day in first place with a team score of 401. They were followed by the Trojans with 432 while the Vikings rounded out the field with a 486. Jimmy Helms had a team best for ECSU as he shot a 106. The Vikings will return to action as they will vie for the 2005 CIAA Golf Championship April 20-22 in at the River's Bend golf course in Chester, VA.
