BRONCOS TAKE EASTERN DIVISION CROWN

GRANDY, NC- The Fayetteville State University Broncos managed to hold on to their day one lead, edging North Carolina Central University to take the 2005 CIAA Eastern Division Championship Tuesday in Grandy, NC.

Although the Eagles shot better as a team, 326 to the Bronco's 327, they did not make up enough ground from day one to take the lead. The Broncos finished with a two-day total of 642, with the Eagles coming in second with 649. Johnson C. Smith stayed at third with 695 followed by the Winston-Salem State Rams with 785. Saint Augustine's and Saint Paul's placed fifth and sixth respectively. The Vikings, totaling 890, moved up a notch to pass Virginia State and secure seventh place. The Trojans, Virginia Union Panthers, and Shaw Bears rounded out the ten-team field.

Members of the All-Championship Team include Brain Demby; North Carolina Central, Johns Azzarelli and Ian Milne; Fayetteville State, Dustin Boothe; Elizabeth City State, and Christopher Parker; Johnson C. Smith.
