FAYETTEVILLE IN FIRST PLACE AFTER DAY ONE OF DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP

GRANDY, NC- The Fayetteville State University Broncos sit in first place after day one at Eastern Division Championship at The Carolina Club in Grandy, NC.

Led by a 74 from John Azzarelli, the Broncos finished the day with a team score of 315. In spite of a field best 73 by North Carolina Central's Brian Demby, the Eagles placed second with 323. They were followed by Johnson C. Smith (341), Winston-Salem State (395), Saint Augustine's (416), Saint Paul?s (436), Virginia State (455), Elizabeth City State (471), Virginia Union (474), and Shaw University (563).

For ECSU, Dustin Boothe continued his solid play, leading the Vikings with a 77. The teams will return to the course tomorrow for the conclusion of the 2005 Eastern Division Championship.
