ECSU GOLF FINISHES FOURTH AT CIAA EASTERN DIVISION GOLF CHALLENGE
April 12, 2006 Richmond, VA- The Elizabeth City State University golf team placed fourth overall at the 2006 CIAA Eastern Division Golf Challenge the Glenwood Golf Course April 10-11th. In a field that included all 12 CIAA member schools, the Fayetteville State University Broncos won the two-day event with a team score of 579 over the 36-hole course. The top five finishers include N.C. Central (608), Winston-Salem State (624), Elizabeth City State (647) and Johnson C. Smith (651). Leading the charge for the Vikings was sophomore Dustin Boothe who shot a two day total of 143. His day one total of 69 tied with two others for the second best individual performance for the tournament. Kevin Britos of Virginia State University earned individual honors with a two day total of 139. Britos shot an even par 71 on the first day and finished day two with a 3-under-par 68. The All-Tournament team consisted of Britos (Virginia State), Boothe (ECSU), Joshua Volger (Winston-Salem St.), Ian Milne (Fayetteville St.) and Brandon Smith (Fayetteville St.).
