HAMPTON, VA- Eight members of the Elizabeth City State University football team have been named to the 2009 All-CIAA First and Second Teams as released by the conference office Thursday afternoon.

On the All-CIAA Offensive First Team the Vikings are led by Karvin Gwaltney, a two-time honoree at tight end along with senior offensive lineman Dylan Stivers. Representing on the All-CIAA Offensive second team are junior wide receiver Dexter Manley, junior quarterback Creven Powell and senior punter/kicker Daniel Mendez.

Specialist Reggie Smith finishes his career at ECSU being voted to two positions; as a punt returner on the First Team Defense and as a kick-off returner on the All-CIAA Offensive Second Team.

Malcolm Jenkins, the CIAA's sack leader receives First Team Defensive honors for the first time while senior Justin Hamilton wraps up a stellar career in a Viking uniform with his third consecutive All-CIAA honor at cornerback.
