FOUR VIKINGS NAMED TO 2008 CIAA ALL-ROOKIE TEAM

HAMPTON, VA- Four members of the Elizabeth City State University football team have been named to the 2008 CIAA All-Rookie Defensive Team as voted by the CIAA Sports Information Directors.

Freshmen Jeremiah Marable, DeWitt Dixon, Ken Lee and Calvin Cunningham have made the All-CIAA Rookie Defensive team for their contributions which assisted in the Vikings' second Eastern Division title in the past three seasons.

Jeremiah Marable who has played both linebacker and safety for ECSU ranks third on the team in tackles with a total of 55 in 2008. DeWitt Dixon, who was named CIAA Rookie of the Week earlier this season, ranks fourth on the team in tackles and has three sacks for a loss of 16 yards.

Ken Lee has posted 6 defended passes including 3 interceptions returned for 16 yards and a fumble recovery. Calvin Cunningham ranks in the CIAA in fumbles recovered, has four quarterback hurries and is second on the team in sacks with 4.0 for a loss of 16 yards in 2008.
