ECSU PLACES TWO ON 2007 ALL-CIAA FOOTBALL ROOKIE TEAM

HAMPTON, VA- Two members of the Elizabeth City State University football team have been named to the 2007 CIAA Rookie team as announced by the CIAA Office Monday morning.

The team is voted on annually by the CIAA Sports Information Directors' Association.

Freshmen T.J. Jones and Malcolm Jenkins have been named to the All-Rookie Offensive and Defensive teams, respectively. Jones, an offensive lineman who hails from Charlotte, NC started 9 games for the Vikings in 2007 blocked for 2,362 yards of offense and outscored their opponent 170 to 150. Jenkins, a native of Florence, NJ played in 7 games and finished second on the team in sacks with 3.5 for a loss of 11 yards.
