Sixth Year Head Coach Guides Vikings to Second CIAA Championship Game in Past Three Seasons

HAMPTON, VA- Elizabeth City State University head coach Waverly Tillar has been named CIAA Coach of the Week as released by the CIAA Office Monday morning.

Coach Tillar and the Vikings captured their second CIAA Eastern Division Championship in the past three seasons with their 39-9 win over Saint Paul's this past Saturday. ECSU is 6-0 against CIAA opponents in 2008 and the Vikings are now the first team since the conference championship game's resurrection in 2000 to secure their Championship berth before the final weekend of competition.

The Vikings (6-3, CIAA 6-0) will close out the regular season on Saturday, November 1st as they host Virginia Union University for Senior Day 2008.
