SMITH NAMED CIAA SPECIALTY PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Junior Return Specialist Receives Second Player of the Week Honor of 2008

HAMPTON, VA- Elizabeth City State University's Reggie Smith has been named Specialty Player of the Week as announced by the CIAA Office Monday afternoon.

This is the second such honor this season for Smith, a junior who hails from Fort Wayne, IN.

In the first quarter at the 11th Annual Down East Viking Football Classic, Smith returned the Falcons' first punt of the day 80 yards for a touchdown. He has now returned both a punt and a kickoff for a touchdown this season. Currently he leads the CIAA in punt return average and ranks 8th overall in all purpose yardage at 106.8 yards per game.

The Vikings defeated Saint Augustine's 24-13 in Rocky Mount, NC on Saturday.

ECSU (2-3, CIAA 2-0) will host Virginia State University on Saturday, October 4 at Roebuck Stadium. Game time is slated for 1:00pm. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com
