VIKINGS HOLD OFF BEARS FOR EIGHTH STRAIGHT VICTORY; WIN 76-66

RALEIGH, NC- The Elizabeth City State Vikings won their eighth straight game with a hard fought victory over Shaw University 76-66 Saturday evening. With a game that was close throughout the second half, the Vikings used a 7-0 spurt with 9:17 remaining to put some much needed breathing room between themselves and the feisty Bears. Anthony Hilliard topped all scorers with a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. The game saw six ties in the second half. ECSU took the lead for good at the 9:17 mark on a score by Hilliard. Olajuwon Johnson added 19 points while Brian West and Lansen Leach weighed in with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
