LAWRENCEVILLE, VA- The Elizabeth City State University Viking baseball team improved to 10-11 overall with a 27-7 win over the Saint Paul's College Tigers Wednesday afternoon.

To their own demise the Tigers committed 7 errors and remain winless in 2006. The Vikings put the game out of reach in their half of the 2nd and 3rd innings scoring 9 and 7 runs, respectively. Carlos Gutierrez, who currently leads the CIAA in home runs had his 7th of the year which also improves on his league leading RBI total (44). The Vikings scored 27 runs and totaled 23 hits for the afternoon while freshman pitcher Deshaun Fletcher went the distance, picking up his third win of 2006. His record as a starter now stands at 3-1.
