ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University Vikings had the six-game win streak halted in a 10-4 loss to the Builders of Newport News Apprentice School Wednesday afternoon at Holmes Field.

The Builders (16-10) got on the board first in the 3rd inning when Ryan Scott's 2RBI single scored Matt Fletcher and Eric Scott for a 2-0 lead. With the lead 4-0 in favor of the visitors the Vikings trimmed the lead to two runs after J.J. House scored on a single by William Stallings. Then with the bases loaded, Brandon Cotton drew a walk from pitcher Joe Tugwell. The Builders would push the lead to 9-2 via a 3-run 5th inning followed by two more runs in the 6th. Although the Vikings added 2 more runs in the 7th, over that span ECSU stranded 8 runners.

ECSU (6-5) will return to action on Saturday, March 24th as they will open up CIAA play against Saint Augustine's College in Raleigh, NC. The double header is slated to begin at 1:00pm. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
